Not as bad as people make it seem but it's not great

It hurts to look at. Points for making the shiny distinct, but if I got one of these I'd be upset. Should have stuck with dark-over-light color scheme, it would have been easier on the eyes.

Great concept, terrible execution.

What did they do to him?

It matches with Lunala's shiny without making it forced, red stars exist in the real world and they're called Red Giants! ,I tend to not see much referencing them though :/
Lunala's blood moon and Solgaleo's red giant go incredible together, the purple compliments it a lot, and the color scheme makes it feel alien to other shinies, something that I love when Ultra Beasts do

making it solid red with purple accents works against its idea, I like the colors by themselves but in here it just looks off....
