Shiny Pidgeot

I do like that it almost makes it seem like a more "real" bird, but all the colors are so yellow that it just ends up looking jaundiced

Recognizability: Fail

Reducing the red makes it less distinct from the non-shiny version compared to the red vs yellow in Pidgeotto. From the side it's noticeable enough. From the front it's less so. It's not that you can't tell, but there's just so little of a difference.

Color balance: Fail

The contrast isn't the worst and it has some things going for it, but there's a lot of yellow on yellow. This even undermines the multi-colored head feathers by making them poorly contrasted varieties of yellow. The talons become a golden brown that blends in with the yellow of the belly and the brown of the tail. Overall not too great.

Aesthetic quality: Pass

That said, the aesthetics are not too bad. It's a golden bird and the hues aren't terrible.

Improvement over original: Fail

The non-shiny Pidgeot is a bird with a vibrant coloration on top of dull mundane browns. This is very pleasing to the eye, and just swiping over everything with a yellow-gold filter isn't an improvement.

Gold but still worse than original.

I really like Pidgeot, but the shiny could've been better. For me this is closer to 3/5 than 2/5 though

Can’t tell. You took the only color away and washed it out with yellow. Like the last every single pokemon except kakuna and Charizard
