Yep, poop green is definitely noticeable from the non-shiny.

Color balance: Pass

Fairly monocolor to begin with so it still works.

Aesthetic quality: Fail

Who thought this was a good idea? The green tones are gross like many of the other greens Gen 1 pokemon suffer from. It doesn't even look like anything irl. The closest thing would be a mossy rock. Onix in Crystal did alright and they should probably bring that one shade of green back.

Enjoyment over original: Fail

The original is cool and iconic. This one doesn't make me happy.

It’s obviously different from the original. It has full coverage as well. However, this green doesn’t fit Onix at all and out of all the greens, it’s very mid.

They could've done so many cooler design or color schemes, and this shade of green doesn't suit Onix

Green is one of my favorite colors... but not this green

This is inaccurate because onix is not called the shadow Pokémon, it looks like the text was confused with gengar because onix is the rock snake pokemon

I hate the green a lot it makes me want to puke

Yeah idk why they decided to turn him puke green but it's one of the less hideous puke green shinies I guess

There are too much ugly green Kanto shinies. For some reason, this isn't too bad.
