They ruined it by being pink instead of Magby gold. Shinies debuted in Gen 2 alonv with Magby. Even Magmortar wasn't safe.

The color balance took a big hit. They're paring light pink with dark pink and all of the colors are desaturated. It's pretty awful.

Magmar was originally discovered in the Kanto region. The main colors of shiny Magmar are pink, and red. The typing of this Pokémon is fire. The Pokédex number of Magmar is #126. In the dex they call Magmar the Spitfire Pokémon

In battle, Magmar blows out intensely hot flames from all over its body to intimidate its opponent. This Pokémon's fiery bursts create heat waves that ignite grass and trees in its surroundings. This Pokémon is usually seen found in neighborhoods, residential areas and dry climates.
