It looks so similar, It sucks, even if it is my favorite

Shiny Gengar's reception is proof that the community has the collective intelligence of a rock. Gengar has one of the greatest shinies of all time. Now, I admit, the 3D era doesn't quite do it justice with it's washed out colors, that's why I took a star away, but in the older games, shiny Gengar goes HARD! So good.

The contrast and balance remains good.

Aesthetic quality: Pass

This one is going to confuse some people. I recommend looking at the original shiny sprite for this one. It's a really nice dark plum purple and it makes it look more devious and like a scary ghost. Clearly they messed up with the more modern models, but I'm going to presume that this will be fixed in the future.

Yeah, IF we're going by the sprite version. Otherwise it's a draw at best.

Shiny Gengar is terrible because it isn’t noticeable - Shiny Mega Gengar on the other hand? One of my favorites!

The OG and shiny look almost identical, and the OG shade of purple looks better anyway
