As I said with Drapion, it is sort of weird that Skorupi is redder than it's evolution which is bigger and meaner, but it does look really cool and brings out the fierce and unsuspected dangerousness this little fellow's sting has, just like real scorpions which have more deadly stings the smaller they are. If that was a conscious decision by the designers to make Skorupi's shiny redder than Drapion —in its base colour and in its shiny— (knowing that Drapion was already signaled to be bigger and meaner by it's redderness compared to Skorupi's base purple yet flipping that on it's head with the shiny) to signal this real-life idea of smaller being deadlier, would merit a lot of points.
