it looks quite cute in this outfit. i think something about the more orange-y shade makes it look more halloween-y which fits the vibe.

Barely noticeable as a shiny, AND it makes the cheeks stand out significantly less. Also I think dressing as Mimikyu is a huge slap in the face, given Mimikyu's lore.

Looks very close to the original.

The contrast is much, much worse with many of pika's features becoming obscured.

Aesthetic quality: Pass

The gold color doesn't look bad. It's a nice idea.

Improvement over original: Fail

It's just a darker yellow pikachu with harder to notice features. Not great.

Pikachu looks more obvious that it's wearing a costume with its shiny. Which I like because it separates the costume and the pikachu into different parts without emphasizing one or the other, and instead, letting you focus on which one you want to pay attention to the most.
