Shiny Pikachu (ash hat)

The hat makes it better, still I don't like it.

Makes me think how Pokemon had such an impact on my childhood and also adulthood! And the anime was part of it all beginning with Ash and Pikachu! The shiny still isn't great :')

Minus one point for the shiny being inaccurate to the anime (Ash's Pikachu is not shiny).

It's ironic that the face of the franchise, one of if not the most recognizable pokemon, should be treated so poorly when it comes to such an iconic feature of the series. While the color of the shiny is admittedly no less pleasant than that of the original, it is barely distinguishable and simply uninteresting. While keeping the hat the same color would be acceptable as it is a direct tie in to Ash, this does not redeem the shiny itself.
